Delta Group, Australia's leading demolition and civil construction company, is seeking a Management Accountant, to join our Finance team based at our Port Melbourne Head Office.
This is a permanent full-time position with immediate start.
This is a fast-paced role that involves month end analysis, journal entries, performance-based financial reporting and various other reports for all Delta Group companies. Provide advice on financial planning, risk management and management reports to assist management in decision-making. Provide financial analysis in examining revenue, costs, forecasting and the strategic governance of organisations
This is a full function Management Accountant position which involves the following key activities:
- Preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Analysis of financial results to assist the Business Unit Managers and Project Managers
- Prepare and process month end journals
- Preparation of monthly variance analysis and commentary for management
- Analysis of month end cost accruals and reporting
- Cash flow forecasting and management
- Preparation of monthly operating results and monthly management reports
- Prepare financial models and analytical reports to assist senior management
- Make continuous improvement of financial processes to enable the delivery of an efficient and stream-lined service to stakeholders
- Other ad hoc duties as directed by the Chief Financial Officer and the Group Financial Controller
To be successful in this position you must have the following Key Attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Accounts
- Having experience working in a similar role in the Construction industry
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to prioritise certain tasks and follow up when required
- Be able to work effectively in a close-knit team whilst also having the ability to work autonomously when required
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written
- Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
- High level proficiency and experience in accounting software programs
- Proven capacity to go ‘above and beyond’ to meet deadlines and monthly deadlines
- High level decision making
- ‘Dare to think differently’ thinking strategically of how to better a process/program, think outside the box
