We are seeking a skilled and experienced Management Accountant. This role involves providing crucial financial analysis, reporting, and strategic guidance to support decision-making processes within the department.
Your contribution (key responsibilities and accountabilities)
Generate accurate monthly management reports and financial data for budget monitoring, including variance analysis for stakeholders.
Review, post journals, and investigate errors in SAP and Business Warehouse systems.
Cultivate collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders through regular meetings to address financial issues.
Contribute to budget planning, forecasting, and financial modelling, identifying implications and supporting the annual Estimates process.
Monitor the capital program's compliance with Government financial legislation and departmental policies for asset capitalization.
Enhance finance functions by reviewing and refining systems, procedures, and reporting methods using SAP and Business Warehouse.
Offer professional expertise in project accounting and asset management.
Ensure adherence to Government financial legislation and departmental policies for financial reporting and operational matters.
The ideal candidate for this role (key capabilities)

Demonstrated SAP experience in relation to cost centre accounting, including a high level of computer literacy in excel.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to obtain and interpret information and make suitable recommendations.
Thorough knowledge of legislation and policies relating to financial and operational issues.
Ability to provide advice, guidance and training to the team, ensuring that the team is adhering to all policies and standards and effectively using established systems and tools.
Tertiary qualifications in the fields of Finance, Business or other related study would be highly regarded.
