The Opportunity
The primary purpose of the Management Reporting Accountant role is to provide insightful financial information to senior leadership, support informed decision making, analyse performance, trends and track key business plan initiatives. As a SME for Finance systems, you will support business users with training and use of finance systems.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial policies, maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, management information and subsidiary systems ledgers to ensure robustness and accuracy. This is a key role within Finance supporting a growing business. As the segment SME, contributes across finance projects, budgeting, forecasting, external audit and reporting. \n
What you'll be doing
- Ensuring accounting standards and finance policies are up to date and adhered to
- Managing the general ledger including reconciliation to source information and systems, completion of monthly accruals, deferrals, prepayments schedules and associated balance sheet reconciliations
- Working with other members of the finance team to review monthly opex and capex for the segment
- Preparing monthly management reports, tracking financial performance for segment and group
- Working with Segment teams including Business Development, Deal Desk, Marketing, Product Managers and Technical Services to understand business drivers, champion financial control and support team in use of finance systems
- Contributing to new system roll outs and upgrades from a financial control perspective
- Assisting with other ad hoc projects and financial transactions arising from time to time
- 3+ years post-qualified experience
- CPA/CA/CFA qualified
- Multi discipline finance exposure. Required - financial accounting and Management Reporting. Highly regarded - FP&A, budgeting & forecasting, capex. Exposure to statutory reporting, tax and IR well regarded
- Systems knowledge required - core general ledger and subsidiary ledger (FAR, AP, AR). Highly regarded - Billing, PO, Expense processing, payroll and reporting tools
- Ability to gather data and analyse complex information
- Knowledge of accounting standards and how they apply to the business
- Advanced Excel / modelling skills
