Job Description
YOUR ROLE
The Manager, Assurance plays a critical role in providing assurance to the Chief Risk Officer, Executive Leadership Team and the Board through independent assessment of controls. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the Manager, Assurance is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and effectiveness of the MACS’ assurance program. This includes development and implementation of internal charter and procedures, internal audit program planning, assignment, and implementation of assurance activities across MACS. This position will liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery, reporting on internal audit findings, monitoring implementation of corrective actions and driving a culture of assurance and accountability. This position requires strong analytical skills, diligence and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and to mitigate enterprise risks.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide focus, leadership, direction and oversight of MACS’ assurance program ensuring alignment with MACS2030 Strategy, legal and regulatory obligations and industry best practice
- Develop, oversee and champion the adoption and ongoing evaluation and improvement of MACS’ assurance program including the internal audit plans
- Apply specialist knowledge in supporting internal stakeholders to develop and/or enhance controls to support effective risk management across MACS
- Conduct assessments of the quality and effectiveness of the existing controls to identify control deficiencies, potential areas of non-compliance, and opportunities for improvement
- Prepare analysis, reporting and advice relating to assurance to the Chief Risk Officer, Executive Leadership Team, Child Safety and Risk Management Committee and to the Board
ABOUT YOU
- At least 8 years’ experience in risk and assurance management, First Line or Second Line experience
- At least 2 years’ people management experience
- Demonstrated experience planning and facilitating risk and assurance workshops for all levels of internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated senior experience, leading the implementation of assurance programs across a complex, highly regulated organisation
- Understanding and experience working with ISO31000:2018 - Risk Management Guidelines and ISO 9000:2015 Quality Management Systems
- Practical experience in the design and implementation of business improvement strategies and processes with a strong drive for continuous improvement
