We’re currently searching for an experienced Business Analyst to help guide our organisation into the future. From researching progressive systems solutions to evaluating their impact, our ideal candidate is a leader, expert communicator, and top-notch analyst. They should be wholly committed to the discovery and development of innovative solutions in an ever-changing digital landscape.

Your strategic and analytic mindset coupled with resilience and previous experience working in a fast-paced environment will play a key role in pro-actively managing the future direction of the BA Practice.

This role leads the selection of appropriate business analysis methods, tools and techniques. As a successful candidate, you will play a key role in defining business objectives, strategies, validating and justifying business needs and conducts activities such as feasibility studies and producing detailed business models and cases, overseeing development and implementation of solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead with values, ethics and emotional intelligence to grow team resilience, inclusion and performance and sets clear standards of expected behaviour and celebrate and reward outstanding performance
  • Conceptualise local plans in alignment with University strategies and monitor progress and risks, adapts personal and team priorities and plans as required
  • Establish systems and procedures to guide work and track progress and strive for excellence and continually evaluate progress and effectively overcomes barriers to achieve outcomes
  • Support and guide others in managing stress, role model optimism in times of change and strive for balance in behaviour in terms of inclusivity, sustainability and excellence
  • Actively engage and enable collaboration across teams and with a diverse range of stakeholders to define process and performance problems and negotiate inclusive and accessible solutions and achieve strategic goals
  • Lead process and performance change initiatives that increase value and efficiency of functions and services and actively encourage and coach others to question traditional assumptions, promotes ideas and review practices and policies and translate into workplace improvements
  • Integrate multiple data sources, baseline current state processes and performance to seek trends and analyse issues from diverse perspectives and draw sound inferences and specific challenges and strategic interventions from information available
  • Use understanding of the client context to anticipate needs, tailor services, improve service offering and ensure a high-quality outcome by addressing client feedback and setting service standards
  • Act as a coach and work with team members to facilitate growth and development by giving balanced, constructive feedback considering individual capability and team performance, in alignment with Deakin’s code of conduct and core university strategies and policies that promote a safe, sustainable and productive working environment.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Experience working within a large scale and complex organisation
  • Experience leading business analysts working in an IT development environment
  • Knowledge of systems, process and business improvement capabilities
  • Experience designing effective solutions to complex business and technical problems
  • Experience facilitating strategic workshops involving stakeholders at all levels to achieve process and performance improvement
