We are a Not for Profit Neighbourhood Centre that has operated in Riverwood for over 49 years, and has an outstanding reputation in working for the local community. We are a diverse organisation with over 160 employees and volunteers, structured and staffed to service a community of all ages and backgrounds. The board of Riverwood Community Centre (RCC) is fully committed to the local community and maintains strong ongoing relationships with our stakeholders. We work closely with individuals, families and community groups through a wide range of programs. These include Children’s Services, Family Support and Youth Services, NDIS support, Aged Care Services and Community Development.
About the role?
As Manager and Nominated Supervisor, you are expected to oversee the operations of the service, lead, guide, and support a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children. This includes:
- Ensuring the service is CCS compliant making sure the CCS details are accurate and complete.
- Reviewing internal systems especially around procurement of goods and materials for the Centre
- Developing relationships that support and partner with families.
- Ensuring RCC is compliant with the Education and Care Services national law and regulations and other relevant legislation.
- Ensuring that the Philosophy and policies of RCC are implemented.
- Ensuring the centre Quality Improvement Plan is implemented and that the centre works.
- towards "Exceeding" the National Quality Standard for Early Education and Care.
- Ensuring that RCC staff and Management act on the organisation's commitment to
- Continuous improvement wherever possible.
- Adequate knowledge and understanding of the provision of education and care to children.
- Ability to effectively supervise and manage an education and care service.
- Marketing the service by retaining and attracting parents and children
What are we looking for in a candidate?
To have success as the Manager you will be a committed and energetic leader who is committed to the delivery of high-quality services that focus on care for to the children and provide a quality education. You must meet the following criteria:-
- Degree in Management
- Current First Aid certificate, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis
- Holds a cleared Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Essential Criteria
- 3 years experience as a Centre Director/Manager
- First class Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Framework and The Education and Care Services National Regulations
- First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training
- Strong leadership skills including exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in the Assessment and Rating process and exhibited skills in preparing and maintaining Quality Improvement Plans.
- A sound knowledge of the Child Care Subsidy scheme.
- A passion for quality education and quality care for children.
- Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation.
- Previous experience in successfully managing a budget for an Early Education Centre.
- Worked in services with CALD backgrounds communities.
- Relationships with schools in and around the Riverwood school district.
- Skills in using OWNA and similar software would be advantageous.
