To maximise our influence, we operate in a collaborative and commercially astute way.Decision Evaluation is part of the Portfolio Strategy and Development (PS&D) global function which also includes Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions, Transaction Analysis, Corporate Planning and Strategy & Market Intelligence.About the RoleWe are seeking candidate at Manager level to join our team in Adelaide supporting the growth of BHP's Copper South Australia business.Reporting to Head of Decision Evaluation, your accountabilities include:
- Be the trusted advisor for the most important investment decisions and to embed investment best practices, capabilities and technology across the organisation.
- Maintain a wide network of impact, integrates functions, operations and regions and solves complex challenges to drive strong functional/asset integration across BHP.
- Supports the development of BHP's strategy, value chain and competitive landscape and identification of opportunities to deliver superior long-term risk adjusted returns for shareholders and stakeholders.
- Supports the development of commercial opportunities (including transactions) that are aligned with BHP's strategy and portfolio priorities.
- Frames, evaluates, and communicates the risk-reward proposition of strategies, plans and decisions; improves investment methodologies, processes, capabilities and culture to enhance investment decision quality, to maximise the long-term value of BHP.
- Assists Asset leaders make decisions regarding: portfolio capital allocation, investments, functional initiatives, commercial agreements, Business Development proposals and transactions;
- Identifies, engages, and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Plans, tracks the delivery of and manages evaluation support to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.
- Conducts presentations and facilitates workshops using storytelling to connect, influence and engage the audience.
- Applies intelligence on industry trends and market dynamics to drive enhanced decision making and planning.
- Leads and develops an insightful, intellectually curious, value-orientated team of thinkers, capable of robust analyses with a responsive commercial focus.
- Demonstrated experience with leading a team focusing on financial evaluations to support investment decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to establish credibility through your strong technical ability, leadership and excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable working with complexity and ambiguity to drive risk and value-based decision making.
- Experience in creating and leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams with proven ability to achieve high quality outputs in a timely manner.
- Effective communications skills with experience preparing for, writing, and presenting to and influencing Senior Management and Business leaders.
- Experience reviewing and understanding multi-disciplinary reports / documents and communicating key outcomes, takeaways, and insights.
- Advanced stakeholder management skills especially with other subject matter experts, senior stakeholders, and external parties.
- Evaluation experience including framing, financial modelling and analysis.
- Completed a relevant tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, law, engineering, or science.
- Experience in mining or natural resources value chain will be advantageous.
