Position Summary
The Manager, Demand Planning leads the demand planning area in Australia in adding value to the S&OP process by providing input into optimum forecasting, analysis and reporting to ensure key target levels are met. This role also plays an integral part in the collaborative planning process and will work cross-functionally with other teams across sales, marketing, planning and supply chain to ensure targets are met, whilst maintaining optimal inventory levels. You will be managing the Demand Planning and the National Supply Planning processes to ensure stock availability and ongoing supplies of products are placed, received and available for our Wholesale, eCommerce and retail customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Demand & Inventory Planning
- Drive the top-down and bottom-up long-range demand forecast process and ensure alignment with strategic financial targets.
- Lead and manage the consolidation of Under Armour's global demand forecasts.
- Reconcile long, medium and short-range forecasts with capacity and financial plans.
- Support monthly net demand forecast and secure on-time customer order coverage and product availability through the development and maintenance of seasonal, monthly and weekly purchase (delivery) plans for product availability.
- Manage effective buffers for product availability including Demand Pull buffers or Safety Stock.
- Manage Purchasing to key targets (e.g demand coverage, at-once availability, inventory turns, safety stock %, closeout %, DFC targets).
- Develop a robust Sales and Operation Planning process (S&OP) that creates a consensus-based forecasting process with cross-functional partners, both globally and regionally, and manages variances accordingly
- Incorporate gap closure action plans for alignment between the demand plan and strategic targets, and between the demand plan and supply.
- Collect and analyze the market and product trends to develop seasonal demand forecasts.
- Develop robust trend analysis on market growth, account door growth, marketing plans, customer bookings and sell-through, and category and style cancellation rates.
- Execute the buying process effectively and on time for available products using the appropriate buy model and buy frequency
- Manage excess stock or large unforecasted orders to ensure that all sizes of a product are available to book in-season, throughout the product's lifecycle.
- Review key assumptions and rationale of the demand plan and its components with the category team.
- Reconcile and resolve differences between category targets and forecasts at any point in time.
- Be an active part of process improvement efforts within the business/functional group, service provider, Subsidiaries and Global and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Advanced Excel skill is required

- Minimum 5yrs + planning or operations experience in sports, consumer goods or relevant industry
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, or a related field
