Position Summary
The Planning & Forecasting Lead’s key focus is to provide forecast creation and distribution. As Planning & Forecasting Lead, the main role will be to manage and improve all the activities related to the Demand Forecasting, Planning and Scheduling activities within the region.
Key activities include utilising multiple data sources to compile accurate forecasts, maintaining the forecast data flow into all ERP systems, producing reporting and performance KPI’s and participating in special projects as needed.
What you will be doing daily
You are in your absolute element when you are working with the business teams to build demand plans, gathering their insights and seek the market intelligence that will provide the best demand projection. You will be working alongside the Commercial, Purchasing & Operations teams to ensure a coordinated production plan and optimal inventory position. You are happiest when you are part of the team but also comfortable working solo. You hold a high regard for data accuracy and show a willingness to learn.
In summary, you will be:
- Generating plans to effectively manage demand requirements for relevant business unit product portfolios across short and long-term horizons.
- Apply statistical analysis to provide insights, trends, anomalies, variables and make recommendations on solutions to ensure the availability of stock to meet the demand plan.
- Analyse sales and forecasts to compare performance against the plan with a goal of improving the overall integrated business plan.
- Liaise regularly with key business stakeholders to ensure the critical demands and forward planning meet the business objectives.
- Monitor and measure actual sales performance vs. forecasts.
- Provide the best customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements.
About you:
The successful candidate is one who is data driven with strong attention to detail, capable of transforming data into information that drives business decisions and is comfortable leading discussions on performance and opportunities. Along with:
- Proven 3+ years’ Demand Planning and forecasting experience.
- Knowledge of supply chain management within the airline industry is preferred.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Advanced capabilities with Microsoft EXCEL, WORD and ACCESS.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skill.
- Knowledge of statistical software is advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Preferred Tertiary qualification (Bachelor's degree): Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Information Technology or related.
