ABOUT THE ROLE
The strategic objective for this role encompasses Managing the financial and accounting processes for Rugby WA, including;
- Accounts payables and receivables processes
- Related reconciliations & reporting
- Payroll processing
- Annual budget & audit process
- Statutory reporting
The role also currently fulfils the Company Secretarial role within the organisation in support of the CEO, Rugby WA Board and the development of best practice governance processes.
CORE DUTIES
- Management and delivery of organisational finance and accounting processes (including payroll) & statutory reporting
- Production of monthly accounts, related reconciliations and reporting
- Collaborate with the CEO and other Executive Team Members to develop long-term strategic plans in line with RWA’S vision
- Drive sound financial and business decision making
- Develop, implement and monitor appropriate policies, systems and other internal controls to ensure sound financial management across the organisation
- Preparation of bi-monthly board papers
- Provide company secretarial support to the RWA Board & Sub-committees
- Review and development of governance processes
- Support the CEO and Executive team in the development of the organisations annual budget
- Be an active member of the Executive team of Rugby WA and provide leadership to ensure an integrated approach with other departments across all segments of Rugby
- Related monitoring and reporting against the Strategic and Operations Plan implementation
- Company Secretary functions, depending upon experience
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 3 years-experience in a similar role (ideally within the sports/NFP sector)
- Excellent working knowledge of Xero accounting software
- Appropriate level of qualification for the role (CPA/CA)
- Strong experience with relevant tax and financial reporting obligations – payroll tax, BAS, FBT, PAYG, Superannuation, etc.
- Experience of working within a NFP Governance structure
- Advanced level of computer literacy (MS Office)
