AddressOn behalf of our client, a mid-sized firm working in the risk, crisis and emergency management industry, working with many of Australia’s largest resources, health, aged care and insurance clients, Brainbox seeks to appoint an energetic and dynamic leader to become the new Financial Manager.
About the Position
- A key remit of this position is to strengthen the organisation’s financial management and resource optimisation.
- The business has undergone a period of rapid growth and has emerged as a market leader.
- As part of its growth journey, the business now requires a dynamic financial manager to enhance existing systems and processes further, drive new financial strategies, and boost operational efficiency across the business.
- The financial manager is supported by a team covering AP/AR and payroll but is expected to be visible, active, and hands-on in the day-to-day operations of the business, working with all layers of management on budget development, monitoring, reporting, and upskilling them in financial literacy.
- This position will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the COO, and it a key step in the journey is to emerge as the company's new CFO ultimately.
- This role will be asked to lead projects such as building a business case for outsourcing some of the existing functions, automating manual workflow, and maturing the treasury function.
About You

- You are experienced in being hands-on, demonstrating a proactive, can-do attitude, and actively contributing to the success of the team and organisation.
- You have at least 5 years experience in a financial management position.
- You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Finance Management and/or an MBA.
- A Certified Accountant (CA) designation is strongly preferred.
