As the Manager of Financial Services, you will join a community-focused not-for-profit organisation and be tasked with providing high level strategic advice, analysis, and support to the Executive. You will lead and manage delivery of financial service within an environment of transformational change.

Your new role
In your role as Manager Financial Services, you will be a key player in our organisation, providing strategic advice and managing the delivery of Financial Services. You will be responsible for fulfilling external reporting requirements, interpreting the Board’s financial position, and providing expert advice on financial processes and systems.
Your role will also involve managing management and financial accounting as well as payroll, a total of 8 direct reports. The key aspect of this role is management reporting, reporting, writing and being part of executive meetings, audits and project groups. This role will also involve guiding employees, assisting client departments with budgeting and financial matters, and conducting performance appraisals.

What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will possess a Bachelor of Commerce or Business Degree and be a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) or hold a post-graduate financial degree that meets admission requirements to CA, CPA or Institute of Public Accountants. Post-graduate qualifications in Information Systems or related work are desirable.
You should have the ability to innovate and improve financial processes, coordinate resources, and use complex budgeting tools. A thorough understanding of quality management systems, excellent oral and written communication skills, and high-level problem-solving skills are essential. You should be able to work under pressure, both within a team and autonomously, and have a confident business manner with effective negotiation skills.
Extensive knowledge of relevant Acts and Accounting Standards, budgeting knowledge, and significant commercial accounting experience in a large multidisciplinary organisation are also required. You will need to liaise, consult, and foster effective networks with the Executive, Senior Leaders, and Business Units, participate in the development of financial policies, objectives, and plans, and develop innovative solutions to work-related problems.
