The Role
Reporting to the Developer Services Transformation Manager, this key management role focusses on building strong and sustainable processes, governance and integrity surrounding all data within the Urban Planning and Development portfolio both from an internal and external customer facing perspective. The role also plays a key role in driving and supporting a dedicated team of technical support officers who are dealing with customers and data day-to-day and will act as a central point of contact for resolving key issues internally and externally. This will be achieved through:

• Developing and implementing a data governance framework across the Urban Planning and Development team.
• Ensuring that Urban Planning and Development has a clear strategic approach (including objectives, customer service model alignment, actions and working within organisational performance measures) and appropriate change management measures in place to drive organisational improvement in relation to regulatory customer enquiries.
• Coach and mentor the team to build their understanding of customer best practice, policies and processes to be able to provide the best possible service and support for urban planning and development escalation enquiries
• Undertake data Quality Assurance activities.
• Undertake actions to rectify data quality issues.
• Reporting on data quality, risks and improvement actions
• Identifying upgrades to key data management systems
• Undertake actions to drive step change as part of the wider transformation team in Urban Planning and Development
• Implement methods to efficiently complete tasks which involve Urban Planning and Development data.

Your Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in current practices for data governance and management
• Experience in managing programs of activity and improvement projects
• Extensive experience at a senior management level dealing with customer interactions within a large complex regulatory environment.
• Experience with spatial (GIS) data will be highly regarded.
• Ability to lead change and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Project management experience
• High level communication, relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills
• Experience working in a Utility space will be advantageous
