Join our team at the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) as a Manager - Data Governance and Information Management! At AFCA, we resolve financial complaints between Australians and financial firms, providing fair and independent external dispute resolution. As the Manager - Data Governance and Information Management, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our Data Governance framework and establishing Information Management practices. Note: This is a full-time permanent position based in Melbourne. Hybrid working arrangements available. Typically, in this role you will: Develop and implement a comprehensive Data Governance strategy aligned with organisational objectives and industry best practices. Monitor and improve data quality, ensuring adherence to data quality metrics and controls. Create and enforce Data Governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations. Oversee the management of information throughout its lifecycle, ensuring accessibility, reliability, and timeliness. Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and project teams. About you To be successful in this role, you will need: Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Experience in Data Governance, Information Management, or a related area. Strong knowledge of Data Governance frameworks and Information Management practices. Familiarity with Australian Privacy Principles and compliance requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work unsupervised.
