Wilmar Sugar Australia is the nation's leading sugar and renewable energy company. We are Australia's largest raw sugar manufacturer and exporter. We also generate green energy and produce much of Queensland's BioEthanol. Our joint ventures, Sugar Australia and NZ Sugar, market a wide range of products under the familiar brands CSR and Chelsea.
Wilmar manufactures over half of Australia's raw sugar, and each year exports enough electricity to power more than 68,000 Australian homes for 12 months. Job Vacancy
An exciting role awaits an experienced manager who enjoys a challenging and diverse workforce. The Manager Mechanical Engineering is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership of all Mechanical engineering activities for sites that are geographically dispersed from Sarina to Ingham.
Responsibilities
- Managing the team to deliver the maintenance program including cost control
- Identify risks in the operations, and develop and execute risk management strategies.
- Manage compliance with relevant business codes of conduct, statutory acts, and regulations, and serve as a company representative on regulatory issues.
- Assist in the development of long-term asset goals with reliability personnel establishing and executing asset maintenance and replacement strategies
- Drive improvement in Labour Productivity on all work fronts
- Manage the delivery of asset management plans and financial objectives as developed by the Reliability teams
- Identify opportunities for improving the system and process framework used for current and future production operations
- Develop and manage budgets and targets in conjunction with Group Manager
- Manage performance and development of direct reports in accordance with Wilmar's HR Standards and Procedures (including succession planning, training/development planning, recruitment and selection, coaching/mentoring and performance management)
- Actively promote Wilmar within the community by engaging in community events and organisational networking opportunities
The Successful Applicant
We are seeking an individual with strong leadership skills and solid stakeholder engagement. You will be highly structured in your approach, with a high attention to detail. You will be proactive in identifying opportunities to help drive the maintenance function.
Something about you
- Tertiary qualifications (degree or higher) in a relevant Engineering (Electrical / Chemical / Mechanical) and/or Business (Commerce) discipline or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 10 years recent experience in similar role
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and Engineering Standards
- Sugar industry experience and RPEQ would be highly desirable but not essential
