The Northern Land Council (NLC) was established 50 years ago under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act in 1976, to assist Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their traditional lands, waters and seas. About the Role
The Manager, Media and Communications leads a small team to deliver high quality outputs in line with our Media and Communications strategy and the NLC’s organisational service requirements. As a section lead, the Manager has responsibility for producing informative and engaging high quality content which represents the position of the organisation and its constituents. This position ensures the NLC’s Media and Communications strategy is fit for purpose, supporting our strategic objectives under the Activating Land and Sea Rights plan. The position provides services and advice to the CEO, Chair, and internal service areas on external and internal options for the NLC to inform and influence audiences via effective Media and communication platforms.

What you will Bring
As our Manager, Media and Communications, you will be the driving force behind crafting and implementing our Media and communication strategies. You'll be responsible for delivering both internal and external communications, enhancing brand visibility, and ensuring a consistent and compelling message across all platforms. You will also bring with you:-
- A People Centred Leadership focus, capability coupled with sound people management practices
- High level of political acumen and an ability to inform strategic thinking
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and advocacy capability that highlights your cross-cultural competence relevant to the NT
- Solid Operational experience with a safety-first mindset
