The role:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership in the management of the medical workforce of Hospitals South.
- Provide high quality support and advice to the office of the Executive Director of Medical Services (EDMS), clinical stream directors, heads of department and other staff at Hospitals South.
- Oversee the management of the Medical Staffing unit.
- Provide hospital wide support and strategic advice around all senior Medical Staffing matters.
- Provide support and leadership for the local and statewide annual doctors in training recruitment at all classification levels.
- Work closely with human resource managers and the Department of Health, Health Workforce Planning Unit to ensure a holistic approach to employee management and workforce strategic planning.

Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary:
$135,408 to $144,527 + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum.
Eligibility
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or extensive experience in the management of Medical Staffing in a hospital setting.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty.
