The Role
Reporting to the Head of Member Office, Investment & Product, you will oversee and challenge product, platform, and investment matters to support our Super Trustees (Registrable Superannuation Entities Licensees, RSELs) in advocating for the best interests of our members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and challenge covering product, platform (superannuation wraps and master trusts) and Investments matters for our RSEs.
- Oversee, coordinate, and provide challenge to the reporting and services provided by the RSEL’s appointed investment and product service providers.
- Review board and board committee papers and provide appropriate recommendations and approval in accordance with Member Office’s remit.
- Provide guidance to Service Providers on the requirements and expectations of the Superannuation Trustee Boards or Committees.
- Prepare high quality reports for the RSEL Board and Committees.
- Maintain currency of knowledge covering Product and investment governance, regulatory reform and change, and to assess its impact on the superannuation business.
- Contribute to the development and review of regulatory responses.
- Support the delivery of the RSEL’s strategic initiatives and to act as a contact for the following Insignia business areas: Platforms (superannuation wrap and master trust), Product & Distribution, Asset Management, Company Secretariat and Strategy & Transformation.
- Assist with the coordination of independent reviews and benchmarking activities for the RSELs within portfolio responsibilities.
- Assist with the renewal of investment related service provider contracts.
- Advocate the fiduciary role of the RSELs inside Insignia, acting in the interest of members and being an independent advocate for the RSEL Directors in the management and identification of conflicts of interest.
- Build effective relationships with external service providers, stakeholders, professional bodies and all levels of management fostering trust and expanding the knowledge and importance of the superannuation business within Insignia.
- Execute administrative and operational tasks and functions to enable the MO I&P Team to discharge their responsibilities supporting the Super Trustees’ (Registrable Superannuation Entities Licensees’, RSELs’) Board and Committees.

- Technical knowledge and demonstrated experience covering investments and/or investment governance.
- Knowledge, experience and skills working in the superannuation business and familiarity with superannuation law, including the SIS Act, Corporations Act, APRA and ASIC prudential standards and guidance (as relevant), and the superannuation regulatory environment.
- Transformation and project management experience (preferred).
