What you'll be doing

  • Manage and coordinate the operations of the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Departments, Broken Hill Health Service and associated outreach services, to enable staff to deliver high quality, safe services to the patients of Far West Local Health District.
  • To lead in an environment of constant change, improvement in the quality and efficiency of clinical services and the patient/consumer experience.
  • Providing cross discipline leadership across two teams

About Broken Hill

Often referred to as an “Oasis in the Outback”, Broken Hill is a thriving regional town in far west NSW full of diversity, history and character. Selection Criteria * Qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy with current registration by the relevant Registration Board and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience in providing leadership and management to Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy departments, including staff performance management, equipment procurement, financial control and accreditation requirements.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead others in a personable and professional manner, and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  • Demonstrated high standard of organisational skills in planning, delivering and evaluating service delivery, program development and quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with consumers, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients, families and employees, to enhance health outcomes.
  • Evidence of sound knowledge in Primary Health Care Models with experience working in acute care, community and/or paediatric Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy with the ability to apply current evidence based practice
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to prepare clear and succinct plans, strategies, briefs and reports.
