About the Role
As a Manager Operational Risk in our Institutional PNG - PNG Compliance Team, your role is to support the Country CRO & Head of Compliance in discharging the 2nd line risk roles and responsibilities by ensuring that ANZ PNG business adopt and comply to the ANZ Group I.AM Amplified, Non-Financial Risk Framework. The role is required to support the Business in the implementation and provide advice/guidance as required under the I.AM Amplified Non-Financial Risk Framework. . This role is responsible for compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards and internal risk policies and procedures. These roles also review and mitigate the corresponding impact on ANZ's business, reputation and financial control as a result of Non-Compliance.

What will your day look like?
As a Manager Operational Risk, you will:
Support the team to manage operational costs to achieve agreed financial targets.
Compliance with Risk expenditure
Review risk events and issues with the business to minimize operational losses and compliance breaches.
Act as a reference point in maintaining collaborative relationship with Senior Business and Risk Stakeholders to drive proactive, consistent and coordinated approach to manage non-financial risk.
Ensure that Key internal and external stakeholders are aware, understand and meet the ANZ non-financial Risk framework, I.AM Amplified.
Provide subject matter expertise to the businesses in developing treatment plans to address risks or control deficiencies identified outside the countries risk tolerance.
Leverage and seek assurance from Functional / Specialist Operational risk resources (e.g., Technology, Markets, Wealth, Product, Security, BCP)
Ensure Business activity is held to account by Country Risk Committees (appraised of key risks and exposures outside appetite, Operational Risk events and other potential exposures)
Provide ongoing training to lift capability and continued drive ‘risk is everyone’s responsibility’ culture.
Day-to-day review/challenge of material business matters to ensure relevant and timely Operational Risk management.
Provide oversight to the business and Business Control & Governance to ensure compliance with Framework and polices.
Assist in ‘deep dive’ reviews to challenge the Business on effectiveness of management of Operational Risk; advising on remediation plans for any weaknesses uncovered through reviews (if applicable)
Provide training and guidance to the PNG businesses to achieve sound risk management practices and optimal review outcomes.
What will you bring?

Strong knowledge of Banking operations, instruments and processes and demonstrated years risk experience
