About our team:
Our Operational Services Team play a crucial role in the organisation where they oversee the training, master rosters and recommend system improvements for our Onboard and Station Customer Service division. 


As the Operational Services Manager, you will lead a high performing team of five to establish and drive the delivery of systems, projects, processes and compliance frameworks across the Onboard Customer Service business.

About the role:

  • Provide senior leadership through effective strategy formulation, customer and business partnerships and commercial excellence
  • Partner with areas in Travel and Tourism to deliver appropriate training in hospitality and presentation standards including Rail Safety obligations
  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of system enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of onboard product and presentation 
  • Deliver ongoing maintenance of onboard customer service levels, hospitality functions and service cycles and make ongoing incremental improvements 
  • Lead the development and implementation of key Travel and Tourist projects, programs, initiatives and strategies to deliver improved business performance and commercial outcomes

Hours: 
This is a permanent full-time position based at platform 10 Roma Street which predominately works between the hours of 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday with the flexibility to work additional hours when required. 

 

About you:

  • You will be an highly organised individual with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once within a fast-paced operational environment. In addition to this you will have: 
  • Previous experience in leading and managing a diverse and multi-disciplinary team 
  • Ability to foster strong relationships and communicate effectively across a large organisation with stakeholders, customers and communities in order to develop and implement successful business initiatives
  • High level of research, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills 
  • Previous experience with project and change management specifically the ability to develop and make incremental improvements to projects, programs, initiatives and strategies 
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with customer services principals and practices in accordance with the International Customer Service Standards (ICSS) relevant to the rail and hospitality industries
