Job description ABOUT THE COMPANY.Join a local council as the Manager Parks & Open Space. This small Council located in Inner-West Sydney, prides themselves on a collaborative team environment that ranges from junior to senior staff.ABOUT THE POSITION.As the Manager Parks & Open Space you will prepare short and long term budgets for the Parks & Open Space business area and manage multi-faceted projects from project definition to delivery ranging from playground operations, reserves mowing and maintenance, nature strip mowing, tree maintenance, turf mowing and landscape.DUTIES.

• Procure and manage external contractors and consultants
• Monitor staff performance and provide guidance when required
• Track completion of Parks & Open Space related customer requests
• Undertake assessment of work sites and ensure they comply with standards and regulations

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.

• Tertiary qualifications in Park Management, Turf Management, Horticulture or relevant
• Previous experience in Local Government is highly desirable
• Prior experience in managing a team to ensure productivity and collaboration
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• 38 hours per week, Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm
• Competitive hourly rates ranging between $55 - $60 per hour + Super
• Initial 3 month contract with opportunity for continuous extension
