The Manager Planning and Impact Assessment is accountable to the Director Policy, Assessment and Finance for the strategic direction and management of the Planning and Impact Assessment Branch.The incumbent is responsible for managing the EPA’s involvement with the South Australian planning system, including assessment of potential environmental risks associated with development applications referred to the EPA in accordance with the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and proposed changes to planning instruments (including the Planning and Design Code).The Manager plays a key role in ensuring that the EPA’s input to the planning system considers the objects of the Environment Protection Act 1993 and associated general environmental duty, relevant environment protection policies and the state’s waste strategy.The Manager is part of the EPA’s leadership team and has extensive contact with other government departments, the State Planning Commission, local councils, applicants and their consultants, and the public.About Us

- Recognised degree in planning, science, engineering, natural resources or equivalent.
- Recognised postgraduate qualification in planning or environmental management.
- Experience with environmental Impact Assessment processes.
- Good working knowledge of the South Australian Environment Protection Act 1993 and associated Environment Protection Policies.
- Broad knowledge of pollution and waste management issues and environment protection measures, practices and procedures.
PO5 ($122,610- $128,328 per annum) + 11% super added to your choice of super fund.Location
