The role
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and providing program management, operational support, and coordination for the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of patient safety resources and educational products. You will ensure that these initiatives align with project management and change management methodologies. This includes developing and implementing high-quality marketing, educational, and communication products for Patient Safety and Quality (PSQ), managing contracts with third-party providers or licensees, and maintaining an awareness of contemporary international best practices in patient care quality and safety. You will promote and utilise appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools to deliver quality project outcomes, manage resources and expenses against project forecasts, and ensure project activities align with corporate goals within a project management framework.
Additionally, you will be tasked with building and managing a team environment that promotes continuous improvement, including recruitment, performance planning, appraisal, and staff development to meet organisational needs. You will contribute to departmental budget development, manage the allocated budget to ensure financial decisions align with organisational goals, and maintain effective communication channels with key internal and external stakeholders to foster successful change adoption. You will lead and mentor project officers, provide expert advice to senior management and clients on various project-related issues, and prepare timely written briefs, presentations, and information papers on strategic issues. Your role will also involve identifying relevant external trends, continuing to develop your technical knowledge, and complying with contemporary human resource practices and policies to ensure a high-quality, safe work environment.
The successful person
To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, including the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively, provide authoritative advice to senior management and stakeholders, and prepare detailed and accurate submissions, briefings, and reports. Your ability to lead a team, set direction, and inspire staff is crucial, as is fostering an environment where staff feel valued, are developed, and coached to reach their full potential.
Additionally, you will have a proven record of accomplishment of leading and delivering complex projects in a clinical setting, utilising project management and change management methodologies throughout all project phases to achieve outcomes within specified time and budget constraints. Your capability to develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain resources that support clinicians in delivering safe, patient-centred care is essential. While a clinical background or relevant qualification is not mandatory, it would be advantageous. Please note that travel may be required for this role.
