The Manager, Research Tenders will provide leadership to a team dedicated to the efficient and effective delivery of all tenders. Working with Deakin’s researchers to lead the development and implementation of a Research Tender Plan that identifies and coordinates successful responses to Research Tenders.

As a Manager, you will:
- Establish and sustain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and key external tender partners/key stakeholders in industry, government, non-government organisations and providers.
- Collaborate with research teams and initiate cross Faculties/Schools and Institute collaborations to lead tender identification, preparation and implementation of tender opportunities.
- Develop new strategies within the Research Tender Plan to identify and prepare research contracts for successful Research Tenders as well as continuing to work cooperatively within Deakin Research, Institutes and Faculties and with key external partners to support Deakin’s research teams to sustain and increase opportunities to secure research income via selective and open tender opportunities.
- Lead, implement and communicate a Research Tenders Strategy as part of the Deakin Research Strategy for the key research themes and proactively identify additional tender strategies and opportunities aligned to Deakin’s Strategic Plan.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Post graduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or
- Experience managing and leading a team to successful outcomes
- Management experience within a university or other complex research environment
- Extensive experience in preparation of research applications with demonstrated success in development, coordination, and delivery of large, multi-stakeholder applications
- Strategic coordination experience, including demonstrated understanding of business processes including, planning, market research, intellectual property management, costing and pricing processes
