The Human Resources team is on the hunt for an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager to join us in shaping VAGO’s Talent Acquisition strategy!
The Talent Acquisition Manager plays a pivotal role in contributing to VAGO’s overall talent strategy, providing an optimal experience for candidates and hiring managers, and delivering recruitment outcomes that meet VAGO’s workforce objectives. Understanding and contributing to the broader talent management lifecycle will be critical to success.
The role develops strong internal relationships and talent pipelines into our graduate and other key workforce segments, utilising their strong understanding of market trends and organisational needs to effectively support changing future talent requirements.
Who We Are
The Victorian Auditor-General's Office (VAGO) provides assurance to Victoria's Parliament and community about the performance and accountability of the state's public sector. We achieve this by auditing and reviewing the finances and performance of state and local government entities.
VAGO helps to hold the Victorian Government accountable by conducting financial and performance audits and assurance reviews of public sector agencies and reporting the results to Parliament.
We are part of Victoria’s integrity system. The office of the Auditor-General is independent - it is not controlled or directed by Parliament or the government.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform the end-to-end recruitment process utilising people-centred design principles to enhance the user experience for future talent, hiring managers and improve recruitment outcomes.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines and processes including VAGO’s graduate program and other key talent initiatives, collaborating with external organisations and networks to identify top talent for future opportunities and succession.
- Uplift hiring manager capability to ensure best practice recruitment while managing risk. This includes collaborating with the Senior Learning Partner to develop and deliver hiring manager training programs and resources.
- Along with the Talent Acquisition Partner, foster a collaborative and service-oriented team culture focused on continuous learning and professional development.
- Contribute to strategic and operational planning for the Human Resources team, aligned to VAGO strategic objectives.
- Provide guidance on and participate in operational attraction and recruitment activities.
- Utilise metrics to monitor and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of recruitment outcomes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage outsourced contracts to ensure a high quality, value for money service.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly business unit leaders and sector directors.
- Stay abreast of global industry trends and market dynamics.
Experience and Qualifications
- 5+ years of well-developed end-to-end recruitment, talent management and/or organisational design experience as a Talent Manager, OD Manager, Senior Talent Partner or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in utilising Applicant Tracking Systems, contemporary talent resourcing tools and technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in people leadership focused on cultivating innovation, engagement and continuous development.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
