Job Description
The existing water infrastructure at Rottnest Island includes equipment for the extraction of saline water, a desalination plant, storage and distribution system while wastewater comprises reticulation with pump stations, waste water treatment plant, sprinklers irrigation system fed with treated effluent. There is a minor gas reticulation system.
Reporting to the Director Infrastructure, this role is responsible and accountable for managing RIA owned existing and proposed water, wasteWater and minor gas assets including:
- Managing the initiation, planning, development, procurement, execution and closure of maintenance, renewal, upgrade and new build projects at optimal value for money and within schedule.
- Planning and overseeing the maintenance of RIA owned existing water, wasteWater and gas assets to attain and preserve maximum operational capacity.
- Provide asset management input into the Capital Works Program, and undertaking a coordination role between in-service assets and the delivery function.
- Contributing to the development of the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS).
Applicants should address the following essential criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total. Desirable criteria will be assessed as required.
Essential * Substantial (Level 6) or extensive (Level 7) proven experience in the initiation, planning, development, procurement, execution and closure of maintenance, renewal, upgrade and new build projects for water, wasteWater and/or management of Water and Wastewater assets.
- Well developed (Level 6) or highly developed (Level 7) interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and prepare reports to the Board as well as technical and procurement documents.
- Well developed analytical, problem solving and risk management skills.
- Proven ability to engage and cooperate with all relevant internal and external stakeholders for collaborative and coordinated outcomes.
- Proactive team player with adaptability and flexibility to manage a substantial workload and competing priorities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- Experience in the use of GIS or Asset Management System.
