As a Technical Advisor – Wastewater Quality, you will be responsible for coordinating regional compliance with regulatory requirements related to wastewater, biosolids disposal and reuse.
The position supports the optimisation of regional wastewater treatment plants (WWTP’s) and coordinates the provision of specialist support from the Corporation’s Wastewater Process Expertise Group.
Quality assurance will be undertaken for our wastewater and reuse schemes. For instance, ensuring meters are tested and accurate, or responding to alerts and violations in terms of our quality of wastewater.

You will play a vital role in protecting our brand’s reputation, which protects the communities of the Great Southern Region.
You will represent us through stakeholder engagement, having regular dealings with local government bodies and managing shires relating to reuse schemes.
Your input in projects will be invaluable in ensuring we are getting best fit for purpose assets. You will have the technical experience and knowledge to understand what is best required for our region.
This is a fantastic, fixed term opportunity from 29th January 2024 - 26th July 2024.

What the role will involve:
· Development and implementation of wastewater monitoring programs.
· Monitor performance of regional WWTP’s, review results for data integrity, variances, and trends.
· Investigation of non-compliances and coordination of corrective actions
· Management of the Wastewater Quality Management System
· Support annual environmental reporting process.
· Coordination and implementation of wastewater and reuse agreements
· Support Department of Health annual reporting for reuse schemes
Key skills and experience:
· Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as environmental science, science, engineering, or natural resource management
· C Class driving licence (essential requirement for role)
AND/OR
· Experience in wastewater management and compliance, particularly environmental impacts associated with wastewater, biosolids disposal and reuse.
