Bond University is seeking an experienced and motivated Manager - Work Health & Safety to join the Human Resources team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this key position is integral to promoting the highest standards of health and safety for our staff, students, and the wider University community.This role will ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and national standards, provide expert advice on workplace hazards and risk mitigation, oversee policy and risk registers, undertake WHS audits, manage workers' compensation claims, and develop return-to-work plans. Additionally, this role will oversee the University's emergency management plans to ensure that all necessary training and procedures are in place for effective emergency responses.About the personThe ideal applicant will have:
- An undergraduate degree in WHS or related field, coupled with significant relevant experience in large, complex organisations.
- Current qualifications as a Building Fire Safety Advisor, Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator, and Advanced First Aid.
- Extensive understanding of multiple workplace hazards, WHS risk management, and legal compliance processes.
- Proven leadership and supervision skills, with high-level negotiation abilities and problem-solving expertise.
- Highly effective written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to committees and facilitating training sessions.
