The role
We are seeking talented individuals to join our team. You will have the opportunity to manage, develop, implement, and refine Workforce Planning methodologies. We believe in the power of strategic thinking. As part of our team, you will provide high level strategic advice to departmental management and other key stakeholders on the Queensland public health system regarding Workforce Planning and reform issues. Your insights and recommendations will drive decision-making processes and ensure that Queensland's health workforce remains responsive, skilled, and sustainable.
This position is responsible for the Implementation of the new Workforce Planning framework for Queensland Health. The framework has been modelled on the evolving needs of HHSs and learning practice. It is intended to enable HHS-based teams and individuals to effectively plan for their workforce in the short and long-term.
In this role the successful applicant will lead a team responsible for identifying, analysing critical and emergent issues related to the sustainable development and growth of the Queensland Health workforce.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated:
- Plan, develop and implement strategic workforce initiatives designed to develop and grow the capacity and capability of the Queensland health workforce.
- Provide timely and well-researched strategic advice on issues related to the Queensland health workforce to Senior Executives within the Department of Health and the Hospital and Health Services.
- Establish and maintain networks with internal and external stakeholders, including the Chief professional officers in allied health, nursing, midwifery and the Chief Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner, to obtain accurate and timely advice and guidance regarding the development and implementation of workforce initiatives and policies.
- Represent Queensland Health at an inter-agency and national level to progress and resolve policy issues.
- Oversee, formulate and manage the development and implementation of appropriate Branch and Departmental strategic and inter-agency policies, protocols and communication strategies.
- Lead and manage consultation processes with internal, external and government stakeholders in development of data and information that informs strategic policy and programs.
- Coach, mentor and manage staff and resources to achieve defined project outcomes.
- Prepare and review high-level briefing documents, submissions, correspondence and reports.
