* Manage and coordinate the Workforce Planning Unit to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of Workforce Planning and rostering to the region.
* Utilise continuous business improvement practices to improve planning and coordination in regional operations.
* Communicate, liaise and negotiate with operational employees to undertake duties at specific locations in line with emerging operational requirements.
* Manage regional timesheet processes including collation, audit, and associated quality assurance in accordance with QAS payroll guidelines.
* Provide authoritative advice to QAS managers related to the rostering of operational staff.
* Provide advice to supervisors in relation to approval of staff entitlements such as Annual Leave, Accrued Time, Sick Leave, Long Service Leave (LSL) and Time Off in Lieu (TOIL).
* Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of regional strategic and operational plans, policies and procedures by providing high level Workforce Planning and management advice.
* Assist in the review and analysis of relevant policies and practices to ensure they continue to support the needs and legislative requirements of the QAS.
* Ensure organisational integrity by maintaining confidentiality and ensuring QAS policy and procedure is adhered to at all times.
* Analyse operational statistical information and prepare schedules and reports on a weekly and monthly basis for the regional management team.
* Contribute to specialised and complex projects in relation to contemporary resource planning and coordination.
* Proactively contribute to the QAS operational performance indicators in order to meet milestones, KPIs, objectives and improve business activities and processes.
* Develop and maintain expert knowledge of database management and report generation, complex spreadsheets and computerised resource planning and coordination programs.
* Participate in staff working committees in relation to best practice resource planning and coordination procedures.
* Provide Operational Incident support as directed by the accountable manager.
* Provide rostering support for emergency management capability for disasters, major incidents and mass crowd gatherings.
* As a leader, actively demonstrate and promote the QAS's approach of zero tolerance towards violence and commit to supporting those affected by domestic and family violence in accordance with QAS policies and mechanisms.
* Model and influence a workplace culture of gender equality, respectful relationships, diversity, inclusion, employee safety and support.
* Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Public Service and QAS values.
