SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.The CMH Mandarin Bilingual Clinician will provide a culturally sensitive service within St GeorgeMental Health. This will comprise of culturally sensitive comprehensive strengths based and recovery focused assessments with consumers and the formulation of treatment and service provision recommendations, assessment of specific cultural issues relating to the Mental Health treatment plan, consultation to other NSW Health service providers and support to external partners upon referral and discharge.They will provide high quality evidence based culturally sensitive clinical services including assessment, care co-ordination, intervention, liaison and review as part of a multidisciplinary team for adults referred to the service with a mental illness or disorder.These interventions will be based on an appropriate model of practice as specified by the individual’s professional background, skills, and experience and will be informed by evidence based treatment guidelines.If you are an overseas qualified Social Worker, you are required to have your qualifications assessed by the AASW to meet the position criteria.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community. - High level verbal and written communication skills with fluency in designated community language (Mandarin) in addition to English.
- Demonstrated culturally sensitive experience in the Mental Health assessment, treatment and management of persons with a mental illness using a consumer focussed recovery-oriented approach and consumer collaboration in care planning.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated skills in time management and prioritisation of work.
- Computer literacy skills.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
