The opportunity:
Join our team at Head to Health Ipswich as a Social Worker - Mental Health Clinician Therapist - Mental Health Clinician. The role of the Social Work Mental Health Clinician is to deliver competent, discipline specific and Mental Health evidence-based interventions aligned with the consumer’s Mental Health needs and goals utilising recovery, strength-based and trauma informed frameworks as practice principles.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
- Deliver competent level and evidence-based psychosocial assessment and management and/or coordination of care for people living with mental illness, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with clinical supervision commensurate with level of experience. This involves actively supporting and promoting the health and wellbeing of the consumers of the service.
- Provision of competent consultation, assessment, and intervention for the Head to Health service where social work is indicated for consumers who are triaged as having moderate level needs that affect their mental, physical, or emotional wellbeing.
- Deliver competent level brief intervention therapeutic services for consumers, including the delivery of a variety of evidence-based interventions to address complex and broad ranging presentations. For example, psychoeducation, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution focused Therapy (SFT).
- Ability to advocate for the Mental Health needs of service consumers and their carers and relevant agencies within the Head to Health team.

About you:
Are you a professional, innovative, and caring clinician who thrives as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and enjoys working with a wide range of external stakeholders involved in providing health, Mental Health, and psychosocial services?
We’re also looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in occupational therapy from an accredited institution and registration with AASW.
- The successful applicant must maintain their continuing professional development at a level that would at least meet the accreditation standards of the AASW.
- Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a "certification of eligibility" letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership of AASW. Overseas qualified applicants should include such evidence with their application to be considered for short listing in the selection process.
- Prior to commencing employment Social Workers are required to have been issued with a positive “Working With Children Blue Card” notice from the Queensland Government.
