The business is fast paced and provides exciting opportunities and diversification for an energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate Marine Assurance Manager to join our team.
The Opportunity
This Executive position is accountable for the effective and efficient daily management of the Company’s Marine Assurance Department to ensure the company compliance and continued development of its operating systems, safety standards and service delivery. This is achieved by driving GO OFFSHORE’s operational excellence within our fleet and leading developing an enthusiastic Marine Assurance Department to ensure client expectations are exceeded and service is delivered in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position is full-time, based out of our local office in Perth, Western Australia.
The primary responsibilities of this role are vast and varied and include, but not limited to the following focal areas:
- Accountable for the effective and efficient daily management of the Marine Assurance Department in order to achieve company safety and performance targets within the Global fleet by driving the continued development of the company safety management systems, vessel riding teams, HSEA and compliance standards to ensure client service expectations are exceeded and departmental policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Provide overall direction and guidance to the operations team, through vessels internal inspections and sea riders, reviewing company operating systems, practices carried out onboard and ensure the Company does as it says as well as identifying staff to optimise the use of human and vessel resources to ensure current and future plans of the Company are met.
- Development of policy, processes, and procedures for profitable growth of the Company, while ensuring that the highest standards of integrity, health, safety, qual and environmental stewardship are achieved.
- Oversee the effective development and implementation of the Company’s HSEQ and Safety Management Systems. Foster the safety culture that promotes ethical practices and encourage individual integrity; ensure ghat the Company’s operational activities are conducted within the limits prescribed by law, comply with relevant legislation, and are based on sound business practices.
- Establish and implement processes to manage and mitigate risks to the Company through a dedicated focus on Marine Assurance of the fleet and ensuring that safety and operating processes exceed industry best practice.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement strategic plans for the Marine Assurance systems, processes, assets, and human resources designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the Company Global to foster continuous improvement compliance regime.
- Participate in regular executive management meetings and general discussions relating to development of new business activities, continual improvement measures, budgetary forecasts, changes to the Company organisation structure, current policies, and procedures.
- Prepare and submit annual Marine Assurance budget, manage this budget effectively and report accurately on the progress made and challenges encountered.

- Possess a keen sense of Marine Assurance, Dynamic Positioning knowledge through a good track record in actively contributing towards achieving an organisation’s strategic objectives and delivering clients requirements
- Proven experience in coordinating activities and contributing to meeting an organisation’s strategic objectives
- Proven successful experience of at least 15 years at senior management level, with a demonstrated track record of achievement
- Minimum of 5 years shore base experience in a similar role within an offshore marine services company
- Minimum of 10 years management experience with divisional or functional senior manager reporting to the position within a Marine environment
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of packages
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / 2000 systems
Qualifications
- Previously held Master 1 Certificate of Competency with senior DP experience is highly preferred
- Previous offshore experience as a Master Mariner before taking a shore-based management role
- Formal qualifications and / or training in the area of HSEQ and / or Safety Management Systems are preferred but may be waived subject to demonstrated experience / competency
