We are a recognised market leader in providing commercial crews to operate Navy support vessels and meet the needs of the Australian Navy!

About the Role

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the Marine Diesel Machanic will provide professional technical and trades support to Ashore and Inshore Operations to support the safe operation and maintenance of various sized vessels and equipment. Other taskings as required of the business may be undertaken, considering the competency and skill of the incumbent. You will be required to provide technical and trade support as well as working on administration and health and safety requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • As a minimum, a valid Trade Certificate from a recognised learning body in Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction or equivalent.
  • Current Forklift Operator’s Licence.
  • Current Driver’s Licence (National Code Class C)
  • At least ten (10) years appropriate maritime industry experience relevant to the position, with a minimum of three (3) years in a leadership or senior capacity
  • SME experience in equipment relevant to DMSS fleet assets
  • Knowledge of Royal Australian Navy (RAN) operating practices and procedures
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks as directed without supervision
  • Application of OHS and environmental legislation and quality assurance systems
  • Intermediate to Advance MS Office skills
  • Current First Aid Certificate
