The Candidate

- Experience of working in a marine engineering environment an advantage
Responsibilities
- Large HVAC Chillers& Refrigeration system service, diagnosis, testing and commissioning and projects
- Performing reactive breakdown investigations, troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC chillers, refrigeration systems, and other HVAC equipment
- Strip down, overhaul and repair of large chiller compressors (mainly J&E Hall single screw compressors)
- Overhaul and tube cleaning of large chiller water cooled condensers.
- Component replacement on chiller equipment, including shaft seals, oil charge, driers, electronic field devices etc.
- Following work instructions and technical documentation.
- Electrical fault finding and safety testing of electrical apparatus in HVAC equipment including motors, pumps, compressors, control circuits and switchgear, and electrical component replacement including rewiring and commissioning
- Diagnosis of refrigeration issues using plant logs, and technical analysis using superheat, subcooling and other key indicators
- Assist in design, installation and implementation of temporary chilled water systems.
- Completing timesheets and service reports.
Competencies & Licences
Mandatory:
- Trade Qualification – Cert III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration
- Current Refrigerant Handling Licence
- White card/construction card
- Current driver’s license
- Full unrestricted Australian work rights
- Ability to pass AFP police check
Preferred but not essential:
- Diploma in refrigeration systems
- 5 years’ experience in refrigeration trade
