Teekay is currently seeking applications from experienced marine professionals with a background in FPSO and/or tanker operations.
About the role:
Employed as a Senior Marine Technician, you will ensure safe and efficient operations of the Marine & Navigational systems on board the FPSO.

The successful candidate will undertake the following duties onboard:
- Operate marine systems and utilities safely with minimal environmental impact and in compliance with legislation and the management system
- Follow Company's HSE and operational procedures and adhere strictly to the conditions of the Permit to Work system
- Responsible for the day to day cargo and ballast operations
- Prepare plans for cargo operations such as loading, discharge, tank washing, purging, gas freeing and ballasting
- Maintain load computer accuracy through regular updating and testing
- Coordinate and carry out slop water management
- Manage maintenance and testing of deck and pumproom equipment, safety systems and assist in fault finding activities
- Carry out offtake tanker mooring and cargo transfer operations
- Be thoroughly familiar with the Safety Management System and adhere to the requirements of the system as appropriate to the position and time employed and ensure CBTA modules are completed and maintained as relevant to rank and position
- Maintain the Oil Record Book in accordance with MARPOL regulations
- Maintain the Lifting Gear Register in accordance with Australian Standards and Company procedures
- Assist with helicopter operations, acting as HLO as required
- Act as Emergency Response Team Member and act as Emergency Response Team Leader when required by the Emergency Response Plan
- Supervise the loading and unloading of supply vessels
- Prepare and supervise Confined Space Entries
- In charge of a navigation watch when disconnected from the riser
- Understudy and act as the Marine and Safety Supervisor on occasion and act in and support other duties as specified and required for safe, efficient, and continuous operations
Key application criteria includes:
- Master – Unlimited, Certificate of Competency with a valid Oil Tanker Endorsement
- GMDSS
- 3 years experience in a similar position or as a Master/Chief Officer on a Tanker
- Working knowledge of Computer Based Maintenance and Management system
- Good organisation and management skills
- Strong verbal and written skills
