This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 2, 2024 with possible extension and/or permanency.
Warnbro Community High School (CHS) is seeking an innovative and creative Marketing and Events Officer to join our team.
The Role:
- Create compelling and engaging content for various communication channels (Connect, Social media, Web page, Booklet and Posters), using Canva and other publishing platforms for distribution.
- Develop social media strategies, create content calendars, and manage social media accounts to engage with audiences, share updates, and respond to comments or inquiries.
- Organise and coordinate events such as ANZAC Day, School Ball, conferences, parent events, fundraisers, and promotional school activities to generate media coverage and enhance public awareness.
- Contribute to shaping and maintaining a consistent brand identity that aligns with the school's values designed to go across different communication channels.
- Ideally be able to create and work closely with the school's Leadership Team to ensure consistent messaging and alignment of communication efforts.
- Build and formally maintain professional communications with the community members, stakeholders, staff, and other key individuals who can positively impact the school's reputation.
- The successful applicant will ideally utilise Information Communication Technology skills to identify current and emerging trends related to web design and technologies and other marketing mediums including social media.
- To provide operational support in the development, implementation, and management of the School's Marketing Plan.
- Competence in taking photographs, producing video content, and managing a large image library. An understanding and use of Adobe software including Canva, InDesign and Photoshop is desirable.
- Ideally be able and confident in liaising with design agencies, provide detailed briefs and manage the school's style guide.

Situated 50 km south of Perth, Warnbro CHS is located in the beach-side communities of Warnbro and Port Kennedy.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Experience in assisting with coordination of events and marketing activities and associated financial management and budgeting requirements.
- Initiative and organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Sound conceptual, analytical and research skills, including the ability to identify appropriate solutions.
- Well-developed computer application skills.
