The Market Bull is a stock market news website covering micro, small and mid-cap listed companies, plus daily developments across global financial markets. Founded in early 2021, TMB is the brainchild of a group of private investors with backgrounds spanning everything from journalism to corporate advisory who saw a hole in the market for quality, free reporting focused on companies and market developments traditionally overlooked and not always covered by mainstream media. We are based in Perth, Western Australia but think global and have big ambitions.
About the role:
This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic journalist with the desire to work in a news and media company that is on the forefront of mining, biotech and tech industry. You will have great personal skills and have the ability to interview top level CEO's of ASX-listed companies and create news flow and content for our client base as well as general market news and emerging stories from around the world. You will also have the ability to attend industry events and be prepared to work autonomously creating stories in real time.
Responsibilities:
- A degree in journalism or similar
- Working ASX (AEST) Market hours, Monday - Friday (early start to get news out on news platforms before market opens)
- Strong news judgement/ability to spot a story, and a passion for news
- Genuine desire to learn about listed companies and understanding of markets
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to research your own stories
- MUST have the view to staying long-term with our company
- Top-notch attention to detail and time-management skills
- Interest in covering mining, energy, health and technology sectors a plus
About you:
To be successful in this application, you will have:
- Strong social media skills
- Knowledge of GatherContent, Wordpress and Hootsuite is a benefit but not essential
- Strong computer skills including use of the MS Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship building
- Abiltiy to work autonomously.
- Ability to manage priorities in a high-paced environment
- Understanding of the business, finance, and resource industries
- Efficient organisational abilities and sharp attention to detail
