The Materials Science Manager will lead the Artarmon Materials service lab in the provision of best-in-class materials support to the global Weir Minerals business. This will be done through leadership of a team of elastomer and alloy specialists, supporting the global R&D team and wider business.
The role will also have responsibility for the development of the Materials Science sustainability agenda.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead in the development and deployment of sustainable material solutions.
Represent Applied Materials Technology Group in global best practice and product forums.
Lead the laboratory team in delivery of materials services technical assistance to sales, marketing and operations.
Maintain Global Materials Database in TeamCenter to support engineering design and SAP.
Coordinate the annual R&D tax concession applications.
Manage materials lab within assigned budget.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Relevant qualification in Science or Engineering, with a minimum of five years of related experience.
Demonstrated experience in managing an effective team.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
