What will you be doing?
The Research Associate - Materials Science will assist our client’s senior scientists with the development of source materials by carrying out sample preparation and routine data collection.
We are ideally seeking candidates with a background in Materials Science, preferably ceramic materials.
Key tasks of this role include:
- Test and analyse materials for radiopharmaceutical technologies using alpha particle spectrometry and gamma spectrometry
- Conduct materials chemistry-related experiments, including new design verification and validation
- Assist with administrative tasks related to product development
- Report research findings and experiment results to manager
- Adhere to good laboratory practices and maintain accurate records of laboratory data
This role requires a strong background in Materials Science, chemistry, physics or engineering. We are seeking candidates who are highly driven to be part of this incredible team and thrive on delivering high quality products.
This role requires candidates to be highly engaged with organisational safety and compliance management systems, including radiation safety requirements, to ensure that compliance with all applicable regulations is maintained.
Other key requirements of this role include:
- Tertiary qualification in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline
- Practical experience in developing, testing, and characterising materials, with a focus on nanostructured surfaces and thin films
- Hands-on practical skills in planning, running experiments, and data analysis.
- Documentation skills for experiment outcomes, test reports, and technical presentations to internal teams.
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Collaborative, flexible, and able to contribute to a growing team
