Mathematics Officer – Specialising in Non-Routine Problem Solving

The College has an exciting opportunity for a specialist to join our team in this new role based around the concept of non-routine problem solving. The successful applicant will develop problems to be used in class, model the use of problems sets in classes, and be responsible for building a mathematical battle program within the College to compete against like schools.
The Mathematics Faculty at Prince Alfred College provides students with the opportunity to achieve a deep understanding of Mathematics within the curriculum, whilst also exploring mathematical ideas that sit outside of the standard curriculum. Part of this new role will be to develop resources for students as well as build on the capabilities of our professional cohort of teachers within the faculty.
We are seeking a dedicated educator who has a passion for non-routine problem solving and sharing their expertise with others. Our faculty is one that values high quality teaching, that calls upon a mix of strategies to help students understand, perform highly and engage vigorously with non-routine problems.
The role is being offered on a fixed-term part-time (0.35 FTE) basis, until the end of 2025.
