We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Launceston Roadside Patrol team. This role truly is the core of RACT, and we’re looking for someone who shares the same values as us and has a genuine interest in helping people.
We’re also looking for someone who has experience working on a vast range of vehicle makes and models and can find solutions for our members.
The position requires a commitment of 38 hours per week, with a standard day shift schedule from Monday to Friday. Additionally, the role involves participation in our rotating shift roster, offering holiday relief as needed. Weekend and public holiday shifts are part of holiday relief schedule, and are planned in advance to ensure a balanced and flexible work-life arrangement.
Successful candidates will have:
- Automotive Trade Qualification (motor mechanic or auto electrician) with a reasonable amount of post trade experience.
- Current class C drivers licence without restrictions
- Strong problem diagnostic skills, with experience in current engine management systems.
- Sound knowledge of battery and charging technologies including sales and fitment.
- Sound knowledge of diesel powertrains and basic electrical principals.
- Understanding of Electric Vehicles and their operating systems
- Flexibility to work varying levels of shift work and overtime outside of the normal “9 to 5” including weekends on occasions as required
- High level of customer service and communication skills, with an emphasis on showing empathy and integrity and building trust.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Ability to work with minimal direct supervision in some high risk environments.
- Pride in presentation of both equipment and self.
- A safety conscious mindset displaying care for self and others
- Preferably live within a 15km radius of Launceston metro area and have secure off-street parking.
