Bodiam is seeking a reliable and mature individual for a Mechanical Allrounder / Fitter position. The role is hands on and involves the day to day running of the Bodiam Pty Ltd Northam operations.
About the Company:
Bodiam warehouses, processes and markets cereal hay and straw for export to Asia and other destinations. Our processing plant is situated in Northam, in the West Australian wheatbelt, 100 kms east of Perth and has been operating since 1987.
The Role:
The Mechanical Allrounder / Fitter operates under guidance and supervision of the Site Coordinator.
The role requires the following duties to be carried out on a day to day basis:
- Plant lubrication
- Plant inspections
- General maintenance duties are required
- Hydraulic components, maintain and replace as required
- Mobile equipment checks and occasional minor maintenance
- The ability to proactively diagnose and repair equipment faults / inefficiencies to root cause.
- Ability to work in a team environment with both maintenance and production staff
This comprehensive role also includes other duties where required to maintain continuity of production.
The Applicant:
Essential criteria for this role includes;
- A trade qualification in Fitting / Machining / Heavy Diesel or Hydraulic Fitter.
- Demonstrated experience in a production environment with a wide knowledge of materials handling process functions.
- Current valid manual drivers’ license.
Desirable criteria for this role include;
- Trade certificate or higher - Mechanical or Hydraulics
- Electrical background or electrical experience will be highly regarded
- PLC experience (Mitsubishi or other). Not essential but a definite advantage.
- Formal training in safety systems operation.
- Ability to direct others in a team environment.
- High risk license (LF)
- Demonstrated computer skills
This is a great opportunity to join an established team that is focused on delivering reliable quality on a weekly shipment basis. You will enjoy a busy processing environment whist working as an integral team member. Our business operates seven days per week, 24 /7 with rotating rostered shifts averaging 12 hours. There is weekend and after hours call out work required.
Please note this role deals directly with hay and straw and may not be suitable for those with allergies, asthma or other respiratory conditions.
Bodiam offers an attractive pay rate and is located in the vicinity of Northam and only 50 minutes to Midland. The successful applicant will reside within a reasonable distance of Northam.
