About the Role
JSG Industrial Systems is looking for a mechanical engineer with 1-3 years' experience to join our highly trained and experienced engineering team. This role will assist in delivering projects across the portfolio. This opportunity will suit someone who is committed, diligent, and has a high level of flexibility in undertaking new tasks and challenges including testing, inspection reporting, documentation, drafting and other administrative duties while collaborating with the engineering and workshop teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental objectives are achieved by establishing a strong commitment to safety and the environment
- Follow and behave according to company policies and procedures
- Assist in projects from scope to product launch phase.
- Prepare documentation, reports, and drawings.
- Inspect product to ensure specifications and quality requirements are met
- Research and development work on existing and new products/ systems
- Liaise with suppliers and customers
- Prior experience with compliance testing is desirable, but not essential
Key Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in mechanical engineering
- Electives or experience in electronics, software and/or mechatronic engineering
- Good knowledge of hydraulic circuit diagrams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Project)
- Proficient in AutoCAD drawing and exposure to Solidworks
- Excellent communication, report writing, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
- Problem-solving skills including fault diagnosis and repairs
About You
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to innovate and think outside the box
- Experience of 1 -3 years as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
- Don't take shortcuts or cut corners.
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Strong and practical problem-solving skills
- Diligent and effectively able to manage and prioritise tasks
- Not afraid to ask for help or clarification when required
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and set priorities effectively in a fast-paced evolving environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision
- Ability to accept change, adapt quickly and effectively to new situations, and professionally cope with changing job demands
- Have a driver's license and reliable transportation
