A leading technology company is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on various projects involving design, analysis, testing, and production of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the sales team during the tendering process, ensuring the design meets the requirements and technical risks are controlled and communicated.
- Managing engineering projects, ensuring the design is delivered to the right quality, in budget and on time.
- Supporting the product maintenance and upgrade, controlling the design and ensuring it is done thoroughly in line with the systems used across the business.
- Executing development projects as prioritised by the company, ensuring the requirement specification is established before commencement.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering
- Min 3 years relevant experience in resources or bulk materials handling
- Experience with design, drafting, machining, fabrication, assembly and testing
- Skills in MS Excel, CAD packages such as AutoCAD and Inventor and FEA packages such as Ansys
- Knowledge of project management principles and processes
- Ability to understand and interpret contractual technical specs
- Design office experience advantageous
- Above average communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to manage priorities and own workload without close supervision
