Your new company is a large engineering consultancy that specialises in technical engineering design, commissioning and project management for the resources, oil and gas, heavy infrastructure, mineral processing, ports and mining sectors. With clients like Anglo-American, BMA, and South32 just to name a few, this company has a well established history of delivering large scale, technical engineering and project management deliverables that are well sought after and respected in the industry. Working within teams of Electrical, Civil, Project Management and Mechanical, you will be a critical part of the Mechanical division, drafting and designing on interesting project that supports the mining sector, for a client that is a household name.
Your new role
Based in the Brisbane CBD in a beautiful, central location, your new role as a Mechanical Designer is helping to support the team on a project that involves mobile mining equipment with an original equipment manufacturer. Working Monday - Friday with a 7am start, you will work in a team utilising Autodesk Inventor to deliver designs on this project. This is a contract position, with the opportunity to go internal for the right candidate able to produce good work. This assignment will see you working within a tight-knit and friendly team, who enjoy putting out good work and collaborating together to produce exceptional work for their clients. You will be surrounded by a team of six drafters who have great tenures in the company.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will be an established Mechanical Drafter or Mechanical Designer. You'll have a strong understanding of Autodesk Inventor as this will be your main tool in completing your work. You'll be a self-starter who enjoys a social atmosphere and puts out good work for your clients. Experience in heavy industry, mining, resources or oil and gas are all highly advantageous, but not required. Experience with SAP or Plant3D is beneficial, and will help to propel your opportunities with this company. There may be an interstate trip to site that you should be prepared for, should that be required.
