Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated and adaptable Mechanical/Electrical Technician to install, commission, and troubleshoot our Climate Control Storage System and Handling & Grading lines in both Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in both mechanical and electrical works, with hands-on experience in equipment assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and contribute to the success of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment and systems according to engineering specifications and safety standards
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools and techniques
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop solutions for complex technical problems
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Assist in the design and implementation of new systems and upgrades
- Maintain accurate records or work performed, including maintenance logs and equipment documentation
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
- Ability to travel approx. 50% of the time to rural client premises
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical/ Electrical Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles and systems
- Hands-on experience with equipment assembly, wiring and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Drivers license
Desired skills/ licenses:
- Valid Forklift and/ or Scissor Lift License
- Capable of working independently and/or part of a team
- Agricultural background is a positive
