The Opportunity:
With consistent growth, Promech are looking to welcome a capable Mechanical Engineer with a sound technical and design background to become part of their tight-knit team in Toowong. You will provide Mechanical Engineering and design input into small, medium and large-scale projects both within Australia and abroad.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete detailed mechanical design works (PSA and FEA) across the company's diverse range of projects
- Prepare technical documentation and reports (basis of design, scope of
works, system evaluation and performance, operating philosophy) - Provide engineering sketches to and subsequently supervise the output of design drafters producing detailed mechanical and piping design drawings to an Issued for Construction (IFC) level
- Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with clients,
subcontractors, suppliers and work colleagues both on site and in the
office
About You:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering is essential
- Registered with the Board of Professional Engineers QLD (ideal although not essential).
- 4-10 years demonstrated engineering experience in one of the following industries: oil & gas, petrochemical, minerals processing, and water.
- Sound grasp of Mechanical Engineering design first principles.
- Experience using the following software: Caesar II (or AutoPIPE) & Strand7 (or ANSYS).
- Good working knowledge of relevant Australian and International codes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
