Role Description

Apprenticeship Careers Australia has partnered with a reputable company that is local in the Illawarra. This company is a cement grinding facility that supplies a range of their products in New South Wales building, construction and infrastructure markets.
Together we are looking for a candidate that has a passion to work in the Engineering industry and wants to kick start their career as a Mechanical Engineer (Fitter and Turner) apprentice that will commence in January 2023.
Our ideal candidate must demonstrate high attention to detail, sound skills in mathematics, ability to keep organised, willingness to learn and most of all be willing to undertake formal training Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade - MEM30219 at TAFE.
During the 4-year apprenticeship you will be working full-time, Monday-Friday, on-site with the companies qualified tradespeople.
Tasks throughout the apprenticeship include operating lathe/mill to manufacture fit and assemble parts and components for various machinery. Interpret technical drawings, perform engineering measurements, perform tool and cutter grinding operations.
